Howdy! A CWFH Weekend Preview

Women’s wrestling returns to the program this week as Mazerrati seeks retribution from Ray Lyn. Their match two weeks ago ended with Ray Lyn victorious under questionable circumstances and Mazerrati has not forgotten that. Will Mazerrati put her opponent away or will Ray Lyn live to twerk another day?

In the main event, Ryan Taylor takes on “The Machine” Brian Cage. Last week, Cage called out Taylor in search of some “real competition.” Does Brian Cage have Ryan Taylor’s number or has the man who eats twelve times per day bitten off more than he can chew? Peter Avalon Responds to Ray Rosas

The challenge was clear. Ray and Peter locked inside the cage, The Office locked out. Ray Rosas laid out the scenario at the November 12 Television Event in Port Hueneme, CA with the message to Peter Avalon, “Let’s settle this like men.”
HollywoodWrestling.com finally got a hold of “Professional” Peter Avalon to see if accepts Ray’s proposal. Peter appeared a bit off-kilter and was brief with us in his reply. “Ray Rosas…Ray Rosas…Ray Rosas…You’re On,” said an aloof Avalon. Championship Wrestling From Hollywood Minority Owner and Match Maker Nikko Marquez confirmed that the paperwork had been drawn up and signed for the match to take place on December 3rd.

Pac 3’s Open Challenge for Milestone has been Accepted

Oi! Oi! Oi! Reno Scum has accepted Pac 3’s open challenge for the United Wrestling Network World Tag Team Championship defense at Milestone on December 3rd.
These two teams last met with the titles on the line in October of this year with Pac 3 barely squeaking away with the gold still in their grasp. Dan Joseph and Dylan Bostic of Pac 3 will have their work cut out for them as Luster the Legend and Adam Thornstowe return with a new smash-mouth game plan. HollywoodWrestling.com caught up with Coach Flexo to ask if Pac 3 is confident going into this defense against Reno Scum.
“We’ve beaten the Reno Scabs once before and we’ll do it again,” says a boastful Coach Flexo. “Put your betting chips on the numbers. One is three!”

Ray Rosas has a Challenge for Peter Avalon

Ray Rosas has had a tough year since returning to Championship Wrestling From Hollywood. Suffering a loss in a Number One Contender match and now facing challenges qualifying in the PP3 Cup Tournament have pushed Ray to question what’s been getting in his way.

“It’s one hundred percent Nikko Marquez and Peter Avalon,” barked a frustrated Rosas. It is hard to deny that The Office have been sticking their noses into Ray’s business. At the November 12 television event in Port Hueneme, CA, Ray Rosas had a challenge for “Professional” Peter Avalon and The Office.

“To me there’s only one way to end this,” says Rosas. “In a match that we’re both familiar with and we both know very well.” Championship Wrestling From Hollywood fans will know that Ray could only be referring to one match type: A Steel Cage! “Lock us in, lock them out, and we’ll settle it like men, Peter.”

#RCR16 – Scorpio Sky v. “Pretty” Peter Avalon for the Hollywood Heritage Championship – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The biggest prize in Hollywood is on the line in singles competition.

BACKGROUND

  • Scorpio Sky is a proud former Hollywood Heritage Champion who recently returned to CWFH after nearly a year’s absence to referee Avalon’s match against Sasha Darevko
  • Sky made no challenges or claims to be seeking a title shot, but he behaved like a man who intends to steal another man’s girlfriend. He stayed close, but made no move and he let Avalon crack on his own.
  • They finally met for a non-title match, during which Sky struck Avalon with a high-knee, knocking the champion out of competition with a concussion for weeks (he returns to action at RCR).
  • From the bench, Avalon took matters into his own hands and challenged Sky, putting the title on the line.

WHAT’S AT STAKE

  • Legacy. Sky feels like his story at CWFH isn’t finished and that Avalon is a ‘placeholder’ champion. Avalon feels as though this is his time and his era and that Sky’s story ended when he walked away from the company Avalon has carried in his absence.
  • Vindication. Is Avalon just a placeholder champion? Are Sky’s best days behind him? Before the sun comes up on July 11 the world will know those answers.

The champion has been out of action for weeks due to a concussion he received from Sky.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

  • Avalon’s Health – Avalon declared early into his concussion recovery that he’d be ready to go by the RCR and he has been cleared to compete. But there’s a difference between being healthy enough to compete and being healthy enough to win. Will Avalon be ready?
  • Sky’s Knees – During Sky’s time away from CWFH, he took his fighting spirit into the world of MMA. Now that he’s back, he’s brought that lethal striking ability with him. It took one knee to knock Avalon out for over a month. What would another do?

#RCR16 – The Red Carpet Rumble Match – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

RCR_FBeventheader

GETTING READY FOR RCR: The Red Carpet Rumble Match
The match that gave the show its name is known for giving CWFH its direction.

BACKGROUND

  • The Rumble is a 30-man, over-the-top-rop battle royale
  • 2 men start, a new one joins every 90 seconds
  • The Rumble is open-door. Any pro wrestler on the planet could walk through that curtain and into that ring.
  • Past participants include AJ Styles, X-Pac, Samoa Joe, Cesaro and countless others

WHAT’S AT STAKE

  • The Prize: The winner is named number one contender for CWFH’s most valued championship – the Hollywood Heritage Championship. The reigning champion, “Pretty” Peter Avalon won his title shot at last year’s Rumble.

Could it be the Year of Kratos?

WHO TO WATCH FOR

  • Vermin – Things have been rocky in the world of Vermin and the Rumble is every-man-for-himself. But, that doesn’t change the fact that having any alliances whatsoever can only help you survive just a little bit longer in a match like this.
  • Sasha Darevko – The Russian SuperTsar made a compelling case for himself by winning a similar match during a recent television episode. If Darevko can repeat his performance, he’ll be back in the championship picture instantly.
  • DJ Hyde – The Lariat God is undefeated since his arrival in Hollywood. Most of his matches haven’t even been close. With size and anger on his side and a finisher that can effectively eliminate anyone in a match like this, he has to be considered one of, if not THE, favorite.
DJ Hyde calls himself The Lariat God. How many opponents can he send over the top rope with that devastating move?

  • Kratos – Kratos is quietly putting together an MVP season in 2016. With victories over nearly every member of Vermin and having led Team CWFH to victory at Coastline Clash, Kratos’ dominance could get a lot louder in the Rumble.
  • Big Duke – After finally conquering Eli Drake at Coastline Clash, Big Duke has set his sights on gold and enjoyed victory after victory. If he wants gold, his path gets a lot shorter by winning the rumble.
  • Mike Camden – Camden is a long-shot, but he recently captured his first win and, to put it lightly, stranger things have happened. Could Camden have finally gotten hot at just the right time?
  • The Unexpected – There’s always a few surprises at the Rumble. Could we see a fresh new face? Could an old friend return? Could it be possible that CWFH has yet to see the face of the eventual winner? Yes, yes and yes again. Anything can happen!
